Pork Chops and Sauerkraut

Rated as 4.7 out of 5 Stars

"My mother made this dish years ago, when she was a young girl living in Germany. Later on, she continued to make it for our family. Today when I cook it, the wonderful aroma of sauerkraut fills the house, bringing back many warm memories for me. Mother usually served plain boiled potatoes with this dish, but for a special treat she'd serve steamed dumplings."

Loved the recipe.I used a Fugii apple and Silver Floss bagged sauerkraut drained. The flavor was excellent I think the celery seed was that little something extra that made it taste so good. Lil

I bake almost the same dish, except I substitute one 12oz can of beer for the broth....Also a recipe given to me by a German friend.

Wonderful recipe. My wife and 4 year old do not like cooked apples, so I used fresh sliced mushrooms instead. Great flavor, pork comes out nice and tender.

My Dad is 90 years old and he says this is the best dish that he has ever had! I'll admit that I'm not a pork eater, but I must admit, this dish is 5* Thank you!

This was the best pork & sauerkrat I ever made! My husband is still talking about it. I followed the receipe exactly except for omitting the bacon and I also agree with the other reviewer ~ the ...

Would have been a 6 star if my kids had eaten it ;-) I've never had a sauerkraut dish where the kraut was so mild. This combination made the kraut scrumptious and not quite so overwhelming or o...
