  1. In a shallow dish or pie plate, combine eggs, milk, vanilla and salt. Add bread and soak for 5 minutes, turning once to coat. Coat each slice with cornflake crumbs and place on a well greased baking sheet. Dot each slice with butter. Bake at 450 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. For syrup, combine sugar, corn syrup, water and cinnamon in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Boil, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in evaporated milk and flavorings. Serve over warm French toast.

Awesome recipe! I had to change the syrup recipe a bit due to a barren cupboard, but it was delicious. I used 2% milk for half the amount of evaporated milk and real butter for the butter extrac...

I used lactose-free milk and instead of dotting each piece with butter, I drizzled margerine over each piece. I added a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the syrup. The family liked the syrup (ever...

This one was good. We even tried the syrup, although my tasters were skeptical. I simply sprayed the sheet pan with cooking spray and they turned out nice and crispy. The toast puffs up a bit...
