  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition, and vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Shape with a cookie press. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 325 degrees F for 12-15 minutes or until light brown.

I was looking for simple recipe to do with my kids on this rainy day. We halved the recipe as I only had 1/2 lb of butter on hand and just took them out of the oven...YUMMY they smelled so good ...

It was ok...not very tasty and dry. Cookies fall apart easily.

I wanted to comment that when I made these cookies with my mom we always chilled the dough and put the cookie sheets in the freezer, too. This might help with the spreading problem.

Not very sweet and a bit dry. Dough went through my press nicely. These cookies will look nice in a assorted cookie basket, though I'm not sure they will be a favorite.
