I think this is hands down the best pie I have ever had. The measurements are just right so that the sweet and tart are perfectly balanced and it takes no time at all to throw it together. I can't wait to make this again. I used plums that were not over-ripe - about 9 of them - some black plums some d'angelo plums. Although I was wary, you do not need to peel the plums. This is one of those recipes that folks will beg you for.
