Coffee Lover's Dessert

"THIS recipe caught my mother's eye back in 1925. It appeared in the local newspaper published in Jamaica, New York. Dad bought a paper every day so he could read while commuting on the El train. It quickly became my brothers' and my favorite dessert. -Louise Stuhr, Chatham, New Jersey"

  1. In a heavy saucepan, combine marshmallows and coffee; cook and stir over low heat until melted. Remove from the heat and cool to room temperature. Fold in whipped cream. Spoon into individual dessert dishes. Chill.

We love coffee but this is so rich in sugar that we couldn't finish it. I wish there was a way to keep the consistency and cut out the marshmallows.

Great! To cut the coffee taste a little, we added two hot chocolate packets - yummy!!! When I do it again, I will probably let it get colder than room temperature before I add the whipped cream....

kinda blah on its own- had a weird texture, but i added some chocolate chips to it and it was great.
