Apricot Round Steak

Rated as 3 out of 5 Stars

"Looking for a fun alternative to traditional steak sauce? In Harpster, Ohio, Bernadine Dirmeyer serves tender slices of round steak with a sweet apricot sauce that has a hint of pepper. The broiled entree is a snap to prepare and easy on the pocketbook, too, at only 53 cents a serving."

  1. Place steak on broiler pan rack; broil for 6-8 minutes on each side. Meanwhile, in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Cook until preserves are melted. set aside 1/2 cup; brush remaining sauce over steak. Broil 2-3 minutes longer or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a meat thermometer should read 145 degrees F; medium, 160 degrees F; well-done, 170 degrees F). Slice meat on the diagonal; serve with reserved apricot sauce.

I really like the sauce a lot! I used chinese chili sauce instead of hot pepper sauce because that's what I had on hand. My husband and I really liked it :) Thanks for a great recipe :)

This was pretty good. I used lime juice instead of lemon because thats what I had on hand. Unique flavor.

It was nice to try something new. This had decent flavor, but I probably won't make this again unless I learn what I did to make my meat so tough.
