Directions
{{model.addEditText}} Print- In a mixing bowl, cream shortening, peanut butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in milk and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
- Roll into 1-in. balls. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks.
- For frosting, cream butter, shortening, peanut butter and confectioners' sugar in a mixing bowl. Beat in milk, vanilla and salt until smooth. Frost cooked cookies. Combine icing ingredients; drizzle over frosting.

These cookies are fantastic! Made recipe exactly as written. A lot more work than a normal cookie recipe, but SO worth it.
The peanut butter icing/filling is perfect! I don't think they need the chocolate icing... quite sweet already.
These cookies tasted amazing! I had to add an extra egg to get them more chewy but I also used fresh ground peanut butter instead of store bought so that was probably to compensate for the drye...
