"Among Mother's old newspaper clippings and recipes scribbled on the back of envelopes, I came across this treasured recipe. It always gives me a warm feeling when I go through her recipe box, and I have fond memories of her baking these cookies."

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, oats, cereal, baking soda and baking powder; gradually add to creamed mixture. Roll into 3/4-in. balls. Place 2 in. apart o ungreased baking sheets; flatten with a fork. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool for 3 minutes before removing to wire racks.

These cookies are an excellent way to use up that box of Grapenuts. Great browned butter flavor. I liked to bake them until brown and crispy.

These oatmeal cookies were Awsome! The recipie was great and the fact that there was not to many oats was great as well. I did omit the Grape-Nut cereal just for the fact that I did not have any...

If you have Grape Nuts to use up, then these cookies are a great choice!

A good crunchy, crispy and flavorful cookie. I added 1 tsp. cinnamon and some raisins. Freezes well if you can keep them long enough.

The grapenuts kind of give these cookies a undesirable texture (hard), but the flavor is so good that they are getting 5 stars anyway!
