Dad's Oatmeal Cookies

- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, oats, cereal, baking soda and baking powder; gradually add to creamed mixture. Roll into 3/4-in. balls. Place 2 in. apart o ungreased baking sheets; flatten with a fork. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool for 3 minutes before removing to wire racks.

These cookies are an excellent way to use up that box of Grapenuts. Great browned butter flavor. I liked to bake them until brown and crispy.

A good crunchy, crispy and flavorful cookie. I added 1 tsp. cinnamon and some raisins. Freezes well if you can keep them long enough.
The grapenuts kind of give these cookies a undesirable texture (hard), but the flavor is so good that they are getting 5 stars anyway!
These are wonderful! I added a bag of butterscotch chips and we loved them. Will definitely make again!
