Chocolate Chip Marshmallow Bars

Call me a rebel but unlike other reviewers I made these with no changes to the recipe - didn't reduce the sugar, didn't substitute butter for the shortening and didn't omit the nuts. I did, however, use pastel colored marshmallows. They're what I had in the pantry and they actually kind of prettied these up! These are chewy, gooey, soft, with a pleasant, crackly top. They're pretty to look at, easy to cut (surprising because of the marshmallows) and delightfully satisfying to your sweet tooth. Easy to put together with common pantry ingredients, these are a real winner.
