  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups flour, cheese, sugar, yeast and salt. Add milk and egg; beat on low speed until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. Punch dough down. Divide in half and shape into two loaves. Place in two greased 9-in. x 5-in. x 3-in. loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to cool on wire racks.

This bread turned out great. I made a slit in the top of the bread before baking and added some more cheese.

Made this bread in my bread maker. Assembled wet ingredients first with dry on top to ensure proper mixing. AMAZING white bread! The cheese really doesn't stand out when using 2 cups so I will a...

This was great for me. BTW- in reference to another reviewer- if you need a recipe to tell you to activate the yeast, that's YOUR problem, not the recipe's. ;)

I made this into the two loaves. I used metal pans and I think glass would have been better, they seem not to stick for me. I tore the loaves a bit trying to remove them. I also underbaked a ...

Very good recipe. I added a little more cheese to the recipe and have made this as a white bread poking in cheese chunks or cubes prior to the final rise.
