  1. In bread machine pan, place the first 11 ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available. bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed).
  2. In a small bowl, combine nutmeg butter ingredients; beat until blended. Refrigerate until serving.

This is a very unusual tasting bread. We liked it but didn't love it. I enjoyed the nutmeg butter on the toasted bread.

I thought this was a great bread. Very light and high rising, make sure your machine can handle a 2 lb loaf. I served with a lemon glaze, rather than the nutmeg butter.

I changed some measurements: 1/4 cup of sugar 1 lemon's worth of rind instead of measuring it out Most of the measurements I eyeballed. The bread machine I used is for a 1.5 lb loaf of bread. ...
