French Vanilla Cream Puffs

Directions
{{model.addEditText}} Print- In a saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil. Add flour and salt all at once; stir until a smooth ball forms. Remove from the heat; let stand for 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat until mixture is smooth and shiny.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 400 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove puffs to wire racks. Immediately cut a slit in each for steam to escape. Cool. Split puffs and remove soft dough.
- For filling, in a mixing bowl, beat milk and pudding mix on low speed for 2 minutes. Refrigerate for 5 minutes. Fold in whipped topping and chips. Fill cream puffs just before serving; replace tops. Dust with confectioners' sugar.

For a faster recipe, substitute instant French vanilla or chocolate pudding. Drizzle chocolate on top and sprinkle a bit of powdered sugar.

This was fast, easy and so good! I also tried them with chocolate pudding and there were also good. I still think the French Vanilla were the best. These are great to make the puff ahead of time...
This was good and I used the filling for little tart shells. However there is WAY too much chocolate chips. I doubled the recipe and can't imagine using 24 oz of choc. chips for 2 boxes of pud...

Very simple to make and everyone loved them. I will make again. I also used parchment paper and added a tablespoon of vanilla to the dough as on reviewer did. Also added the eggs one at a time...

Really quick and easy! I added 1 tablespoon of vanilla to the batter and did not use the chips. I also doubled the amount of batter for each puff for a larger puff. Everyone is loving these!!
