Old-Fashioned Peach Butter

  1. In a large bowl, combine the peaches, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves; mix well. Transfer to a 5-qt. slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until peaches are very soft, stirring occasionally.
  2. Stir in tapioca. Cook, uncovered, on high for 1 hour or until thickened. Pour into jars or freezer containers; cool to room temperature, about 1 hour. Refrigerate or freeze.

I really love the flavor. I did end up in the end putting it in the blender so it wouldn't have the chunks of peaches.

Sorry, but this recipe just did not work. I wound up cooking it for twice the time and adding twice as much tapioca and it just never thickened. I had to cook it on the stove and add pectin. ...

I really love the flavor. I did end up in the end putting it in the blender so it wouldn't have the chunks of peaches.

Was very simple to put together, good taste but nit the consistency i was hoping for. Kind of gooey instead of a fruit butter.
