Italian Pepper Steak

  1. In a small bowl, combine 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Rub mixture over both sides of steak; set aside.
  2. In a large nonstick skillet, saute the peppers, onion and garlic in oil until vegetables are crisp-tender. Stir in the tomatoes and remaining Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat. Stir in vinegar; keep warm.
  3. Place steak on a broiler pan coated with nonstick cooking spray. Broil 4-6 in. from the heat for 4-8 minutes on each side or until the meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a meat thermometer should read 145 degrees F; medium, 160 degrees F; well-done, 170 degrees F). Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing; serve with vegetable mixture.

“I’m leaving on a jet plane” in the morning (again) and needed something for supper because I didn’t want restaurant food, but the challenge was that I hadn’t been grocery shopping in three week...

I really liked this. For as much flavor as it had, it was pretty simple. I served it with some spicy fried potatoes.

This was delicious, and very easy. I didn't have steak, only cubed beef, but I tossed it all together and cooked it that way, and it was really good. It was a nice change from the usual pepper...

This is very good! I followed the directions exactly; no need to make any changes. I doubled the seasonings for the peppers & onions and used the other half to season a side of angel hair pasta....

i put my steak on the charcoal grill only thing i changed and it was very good served with italian potatoe salad

Love it. I cut out the tomatoes..but it's still excellent. Its just like my grandmama's.

I just used this recipe for the steak. Broiled a 2/3lb bone-in steak for 3.5 minutes on both sides for a medium-rare. Only used about 1/4 tsp for the Italian seasoning though...next time I wil...
