Cheesy Pesto Bread

"Cheesy Pesto Bread is from Karen Grant of Tulare, California. I was out of French bread one day and remembered I had a packaged, prebaked bread crust on hand, she recalls. I topped it with pesto and cheese for dinner. Now its expected whenever I make pasta and salad. Its great heated up for lunch the next day, too."

  1. Place crust on a pizza pan or baking sheet. Spread with pesto; sprinkle with garlic salt and cheeses. Bake at 300 degrees F for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Cut into wedges.

I'm giving 4 stars because I don't really think you need any garlic salt with the pesto. I thought it was too much garlic. I have made twice, once as written and once with homemade flat bread....

I like this to go with pizza or pasta. I usually just use homemade italian bread dough instead of the refrigerated (since I'm obsessed with my breadmaker), and I go with whatever cheese I have ...

This was really good. I make the spread and put it on french bread and broiled it. Everyone loved it.

Loved it! I baked my own loaf of bread in my bread maker, topped with parmesan and mozzarella and let it melt and then spread pesto on it. Served as a side dish with dinner. DELICIOUS!

Quick and tasty! I used quite a bit more pesto and added red pepper flakes. Skip the garlic salt unless you are a salt fiend - this doesn't need it. Thanks for the recipe!

This was fairly tasty, but more like a pizza than a bread accompaniment to a meal. It was very filling. We found it much better for lunch the next day, with some veggies and dip or fruit. Thanks!

I have made this many times. It is a good side dish to have with pasta and salad. Always tasts good, and so easy to prepare!!
