'My brother made this stove top side dish as his contribution to Christmas dinner one year. We liked it so much that it became a mainstay in our household. -Gail Orsillo of Lynnwood, Washington

We absolutely loved these. I used butter instead of olive oil but that was the only change I made. The kids especially loved these--they cleaned their plates of all green beans! Read More

These are nicely crisp and fresh tasting. Next time I might blanch or briefly steam the green beans prior to tossing in the pan with garlic. I don't have an oversized frying pan, so they came out a bit unevenly cooked when I followed the cooking instructions on the recipe. Read More

This is really good. I added some chili powder b/c I like things spicy, but it would have been good just as is. Read More

A good but basic recipe for cooking green beans. More what I'd expect to find in a reference cookbook. Reliable, "can't go wrong" recipe, more about method than style or flair. Read More

These were delicious! I have never cooked green beans before and I thought they would taste kind of plain, but the balance of flavors is perfect. They are very light and the green beans are not overly-flavored, they are just right. Read More

Even my vegie-phobic husband ate these. I needed something to do with my beans other than throw them out because he won't eat them. Sublime. I used one third of the amount of beans and the recipes amounts of garlic and lemon for extra tang. Yum. Read More
