Chewy Coconut Macaroons

Rated as 3.95 out of 5 Stars

"These chewy cookies are my husband's favorites, so he requests them often. I like to make the macaroons on cold winter days and keep them in an airtight bowl on the kitchen counter. They never last long! --Peggy Key of Grant, Alabama"

These taste ok, but the sweetened condensed milk makes them very heavy. They turned out like rocks! Not the same texture as a traditional macaroon.

These macaroons are the chewy kind, not the fluffy meringue-style macaroons. They have too much almond extract and are much flatter than I am accustomed to having.
