  1. Place the flour in a large resealable plastic bag. Add beef, a few pieces at a time, and shake to coat. In a skillet, cook the beef in butter over medium heat until browned. Add onion and garlic; cook for 2-3 minutes or until onion is tender.
  2. Add broth, mushrooms, basil, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1-1/2 hours or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally. Serve over rice.

This was great. Will make often. The beef stays so tender, not chewy at all. I will add more fresh mushrooms next time.

I loved this. I added a can of cream of mushroom soup which made an awesome gravy.

Very good. I used I whole onion, extra fresh mushrooms, 1.5 lbs of meat, 5 garlic cloves, a teaspoon of worcester sauce. I also used parsley instead of basil. I am using the leftovers in a wrap...

it was okay, I think that this recipe is a good starter recipe for a great dish. I would add some red wine and worchestire next time and little less basil. overall, pretty good though
