Shrimp-Topped Red Snapper

"'We first experimented with this recipe using fresh crappie,' writes Marsha Sullins of Longview, Texas. 'We liked it so much, the next night I used it with bass. When my friend tried it on red snapper, I concluded it's just awesome with any fish.'"

  1. Place the fillets in a shallow 2-qt. baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray. Sprinkle with lemon juice and pepper. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Meanwhile, in a small skillet, saute the mushrooms and garlic in butter until tender. Add shrimp; cook for 2-4 minutes or until shrimp turn pink. Spoon over fish. Sprinkle with onion.

I just made this for dinner and it was great. The only change I made was adding a dash of seasoning salt to the shrimp and mushroom mixture. We'll definitely have this again!

Good, not great. I will probably not make this recipe again. The shrimp with the snapper was too much. The mushroom overwhelmed the taste of the snapper as well.

Wow, Followed recipe to the T.. Was surprised at how easy and tasty it was. Can not wait to make it again!! If you love fish please try this recipe you will love it.

Very good, I think I should have added some sherry to the sauce though.

I did not have red snapper, but I did have Basa. I believe it is a Vietnamese Catfish. It was not only easy but it was very good.

tried this recipe before with salmon broiled with herb stuffing and tiny shrimp on top,it was delicious!
