Sweetened Whipped Cream

"Sometimes a dollop of sweetened whipped cream is all you need to top your favorite cake or other dessert. To make ahead, slightly underwhip the cream, then cover and refrigerate for several hours. Beat briefly just before using."

  1. In a chilled small mixing bowl and with chilled beaters, beat cream until it begins to thicken. Add confectioners' sugar and vanilla; beat until soft peaks form. Store in the refrigerator.

I was not happy with the flavor of this whipped cream. It had an unusual flavor. The next time I made it, I used 1/4 cup of regular white sugar and no vanilla and it was out of this world.
