  1. Place green beans in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, for 8-10 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain.
  2. In a large skillet, saute the onion, garlic, oregano, basil, salt if desired and pepper in oil until onion is tender. Add beans and tomatoes; heat through.

My mother makes this all the time so I thought I'd give it a try. Easy! I used a tin of tomatoes, 4 cloves freshly minced garlic and about 5 leaves of fresh basil from the garden. Needs the salt...

This was good but not amazing. I used fresh basil and also added 1/4 of peppers. I may try making it again put maybe stirring in some goat cheese before serving.

Very good. I used fresh basil from the garden and fresh tomatoes. Plenty flavorful, and colorful, too. I had yellow and purple beans from my CSA. That, with fresh tomatoes, was gorgeous.

tossed in the tomatoes and fresh basil right before serving the beans and served it luke warm. it was fabulous!
