I have played around with this old family recipe adding nuts, chips etc. and it always turns out really good and if made ahead is really quick when you need cookies in a hurry.

  • Cream together butter or margarine, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Mix in flour, salt and baking soda.

  • Roll dough into 2 inch diameter logs. Wrap in waxed paper and freeze.

  • Slice and bake anytime at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) until light brown.

Great cookie simple and easy to make ahead. I did use baking powder at 1.5 tsp instead and pecans-because I had them. Seems like you could change this up many ways. Read More

I thought these were great! I followed the recipe to a T and put them in the freezer. When I needed cookies I sliced them just like I had brought them from the store. I baked mine about 20 minutes until they were done. Great flavor and nice to have in my freezer. Thanks! Read More
