View All Saved Items Rate Print Share Share Tweet Pin Email Add Photo 1 Servings: 30 Yield: 5 dozen Jump to Nutrition Facts Ingredients 2 cups water 3 cups raisins 2 cups shortening 8 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 4 cups white sugar 6 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon Directions Boil water and raisins together for 5 minutes. Set aside. Cream sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla until light. Pour in the warm raisin mixture, combining well. Stir in dry ingredients that have been combined and blend well. Drop by tablespoonful on a lightly oiled cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 12 to 15 minutes.
