  1. Cream together the butter or margarine and the brown sugar. Add the eggs, and beat well. Add the flour and baking soda. Chop the dates, and add them with the raisins and walnuts to the dough.
  2. Spoon dough onto cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for approximately 8 minutes.

I think these cookies need a tsp. of salt.

It made a LOT of cookies that are pretty ho-hum. I was looking for recipe like my mother made. This was not it. Doesn't have any flavor. Wouldn't make it again.
