Brownie Mix in a Jar


An adorable jar with a delicious brownie mix is the perfect gift for any occasion. Have a baked batch handy when giving the jars so that everyone will know they're in for a treat!

1 quart dry brownie mix


  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 2 ¼ cups white sugar

  • ½ cup chopped pecans


  1. Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt in a quart jar. Add cocoa powder to form the next layer, and wipe out the inside of the jar with a dry paper towel so the other layers will show through the glass. Add white sugar, and top with chopped pecans.

  2. Write an instructions tag and attach to the brownie mix (see below).

Brownie Mix Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.

2. Empty jar of brownie mix into a large mixing bowl, and stir to blend. Add 3/4 cup melted butter and 4 eggs and mix until thoroughly combined. Spread batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.

3. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into 2-inch squares.
