Aunty Laura's Shortbread

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Cream together butter and sugar. Mix in rice flour until well blended. Add all-purpose flour. Remove from bowl.
  3. Knead dough for 5 minutes. Roll dough out and place in a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan.
  4. Prick the top with a fork. Bake 35 minutes or until golden brown and a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cut into bars and allow to cool in the pan.

A friend gave me this recipe and I love it. I roll out the dough and use cookie cutters. I do cut recipe in half as it does produce alot of cookies

Perfect. I use more flour and i make sliced cookies, I bake them until became hard. Melt in the mouth.

This is one of the best recipes for shortbread. I have used it for years and also my daughters - so I guess it is a family favourite! Thanks for submitting it because it really is excellent.

This has become a Christmas favorite that I can't keep for long in the cookie jar! I tend to roll little balls and flatten with a decorative clay mold. melts in your mouth.
