If I asked you to predict our most popular recipes for November, you might say turkey, stuffing, and pie. But while it's true that Thanksgiving recipes tend to grab the spotlight this month, that's only one day out of 30 — there are still 29 other days to cook for. (Maybe 28, if post-Thanksgiving is all about leftovers.) So, judging by this month's numbers, Allrecipes home cooks leaned toward warming casseroles and easy dinners, with lunches, side dishes, and at least one Christmas cookie also making the list. Let's take a look at November's most popular recipes and see what Allrecipes home cooks are clicking on and cooking up the most this month.

Coconut Cream Pie I

Aubrey M.

This super easy version of coconut cream pie relies on three key shortcut ingredients: vanilla pudding, whipped topping, and ready-made pie crust. Reviewer JAHEEG tweaked the recipe a bit: "I used coconut cream pudding instead of the vanilla pudding and heavy whipping cream whipped up with two tablespoons of granulated sugar instead of the Cool Whip type cream. I also roasted about a half cup coconut on a preheated baking sheet to sprinkle on the top. It was great and I received lots of compliments. Too easy to be this YUMMY!"

Grandma's Best Pot Roast

Grandma's Best Pot Roast
SoupLovingNicole

This oven-cooked pot roast doesn't need browning before it goes in to roast with onions. Adding carrots and potatoes to the mix is optional, but always welcome. "It doesn't get any easier than this," says Allrecipes Allstar Soup Loving Nicole. "I made this as written except for the last gravy step. After dropping the temp to 350, I added potatoes and carrots which soaked up the juices and didn't leave enough to make gravy. I honestly thought this would be lacking in flavor with so few seasonings used but it was not. Mine was done in an hour less than what was called for so be sure to check it often."

Creamiest Rice Pudding

B Spradley

Cooking on the stove and letting it chill overnight makes this popular recipe one you have to wait to enjoy, but reviewers say it's well worth it. Home cook Bobbi makes it in her slow cooker: "This is the greatest. I needed a good rice pudding recipe for a party, so I looked here and found this one. I put the milk and sugar and rice in my crock pot. I waited for the milk to get warm before adding the rice. This should be rated more than 5 stars and it is worth the wait. In the crock pot it took almost three hours but if you're not in a hurry it's a great way to do it cause you don't have to babysit it. It turned out to be the hit of the party." Bobbi goes on to say she didn't add the eggs until the pudding was nice and thick, then she cooked it for 20 minutes more.

Allrecipes

Here's another weeknight winner you can make with pantry ingredients plus a rotisserie chicken. "This was delicious," says reviewer luv410s. "I was shocked when my boyfriend's son picked up the spoon for a second helping. I made the stuffing with chicken broth instead of water. With adding salt it was a tad salty but still good. Next time I will omit the salt and use low sodium broth. I got a little concerned because it was browning but never bubbled. Took it out after an hour and twenty minutes. Definitely will make this again. Looked beautiful!"

Steakhouse Potatoes Romanoff

Steakhouse Potatoes Romanoff
Chef John

This rich potato casserole has made it onto the Most Popular list for the past couple of months, and it's easy to see why. Not only is it a luxurious side dish that elevates any meal, it's the kind of deceptively simple recipe that fools people into thinking you worked on it for hours and hours. Go ahead and let them. Note: To do this as a make-ahead, prep the casserole until the point where you'd put it in the oven. Then let it cool, wrap it up, and pop it into the fridge overnight. When you're ready to bake it, let it sit out for 20 to 30 minutes, then bake it in your preheated oven.
