Pretty Pumpkin Pie

I like things that go "crunch!" I can't eat a smooth, custard-ey pie, or ice cream that doesn't have something that I can bite into. Along comes the holidays and I'm in charge of dessert, so a basic pumpkin pie evolved into a pie with some bite.

For the pie:
1 15 oz. can pumpkin pie filling
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. molasses
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 graham-cracker pie crust
For the topping:
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 TB butter
1/2 cup finely-chopped walnuts

Instructions Checklist

Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

In large bowl, combine all of the pie ingredients and pour into prepared graham-cracker crust.
Step 3
Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 and bake an additional 30 min.
Step 4
Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine brown sugar with flour and cinnamon. Cut in butter until coarse and crumbly, then stir in walnuts.
Step 5
Remove pie from oven and gently spread crumb topping over it. Bake for 15 more min. and cool completely.
