I'm nutty for snackey-mixes. Over the holidays, I thought it'd be nice to serve a more "refined" snack mix than just a standard trail mix. Enter this recipe! A recipe that's completely customizable - change the ratio, add a goldfish cracker or Cheerio, this snack mix is, as my 2 year old says, "nummy nummy good" even with the little kick that the topping gives it.

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

  • In small bowl, stir brown sugar into melted butter until dissolved. Stir in remaining ingredients until well mixed. Pour over nuts and gently stir until everything's evenly coated.

  • Bake for 30-40 min. stirring often to ensure that everything's coated in flavor goodness.

  • Cool completely before storing in an airtight container or ziplock bag.

Tips

Shelling of the pistachios is the most time-consuming of the recipe; otherwise, it's dump-in-bowl, mix, bake, stir, EAT!
