These cookies were really delicious. We wanted to use cookie cutters so we followed another reviewer's advice by adding 1/4 cup more flour. The dough was still too sticky when I rolled it so I just added more flour as I went. The cookies turned out a little hard, so either the 8 minutes is too long or the 375 is too hot, but once I adjusted it, they turned out fine. The cookies are a little bland, which is great if you add a frosting on top. Overall very good recipe and my 5 year old loved them!
Excellent recipe. Easily feeds a family of four. I've made this close to twenty times since I first saw the recipe last year. It takes almost no time to prepare and is very easy to make. I've made it with chicken, and with turkey, and both were excellent. It's a GREAT use for leftover Thanksgiving turkey. While not the prettiest dish to serve, it certainly makes up for it in taste. I highly recommend this to everyone.
This recipe was pretty easy to make and was good, but not what I was looking for. I was trying to find a recipe similar to TGIFriday's, and this was not it, but close. The batter for the coconut to stick to the chicken was just not right. The chicken came out very tender though, and overall our family did enjoy it, and we have some picky eaters.
Fantastic! I made this recipe for my husband's birthday party. I doubled the recipe and thought that I would have leftovers for the next day's lunch, but boy was I wrong! These went so fast, and I received compliment after compliment. I don't even particularly like meatballs, and I thought these were delicious. I read the reviews on the recipe, but I didn't change any of the ingredients. They were also incredibly easy to make. I will make these at least twice a month now.
This soup was very good, similar to the baked potato soup that they serve at Outback Steakhouse. I needed to add a little more seasoning to it than suggested, but that's just a matter of taste. I have a ton of leftovers, but will make this again.
This is very similar to my mother's recipe. The only thing different is that we use chicken drummettes (small drumsticks). We buy about 4 packages, lay them top to end in a 9 x 13 pan, and bake the heck out of them until they are almost candied. (Usually an hour, turn them over, and then another hour). They are so good this way and irresistable to little kids. I've also used Russian or Catalina dressing, both come out great that way. I prefer to use apricot jam over preserves. If for some reason yours comes out too runny, which happened to another reviewer, than either you used too much dressing (I normally use 2 regular sizes bottles of dressing), or have not cooked it long enough.
This recipe was so so. It lacks the extra ingredients of the spectacular Sour Cream Cheese Casserole from this site. I suggest skipping this and trying that.
It is FANTASTIC. My mother and I are huge sweet potato fans and this came out beautifully. 10 star recipe!
Awesome cookies! We pretty much followed the recipe, but made two changes. We left out the lemon zest (personal preference), and we followed other reviewer's advice by rolling the dough in powdered sugar before baking. We used raspberry, boysenberry and apricot jam, and we also put chocolate chips in the middle - minus the jam, and all were wonderful. And when they say it makes 7 dozen cookies, they are NOT kidding. Great recipe...thanks Mellan!
I pretty much agree with other reviews about this recipe and I took a lot of their advice. Here is what I did: I used 2 1/2 cups milk + 1 cup water, one can of chicken w/herbs soup plus one can cream of mushroom, 2 1/2 cups of rice and a teaspoon of table salt. I only had 4 large chicken breasts in the freezer, but it was more than enough for this dish. I put it in a 350 oven for about 1/2 an hour, checked to see how the chicken was cooking, stirred it, put it back in for 15 minutes, checked to make sure the chicken was cooked through, and then put sharp cheddar cheese on top and cooked another 15 minutes uncovered. The only thing I will change next time is I will add more milk, as it came out a tad too dry. The chicken was soft, tender and this dish was easy to prepare...plus there are so many ways to change it up a bit!
Excellent! Tastes just like NY coffee cake! I'll only change one thing - I'll double the amount of topping - there just wasn't enough!
This was very good - my husband had seconds. I followed other reviewers advice and used 2 cans of cream of chicken. I also added some water to the stuffing/broth mixture because I thought it would be too dry, and it was. Next time I'll use twice the amount of liquid it calls for. I didn't boil the chicken first, I just put it in the pan. I baked for 45 minutes at 350, and it came out beautifully.
