I enjoy cooking good and healthy food and really love using the fresh vegetables from our little garden. Cooking is something that our family does together-from the smallest to the tallest.
Butterscotch Cookie Bars

These were sweet and delicious. Even my boys who don't like raisins just loved them and they were so easy to make! The only thing that I changed was to decrease the sugar and since I'm not too crazy about nuts, I chopped them very fine so you still got the flavor and a little crunch, but were eating huge chunks of nuts.

Barbecued Short Ribs

These turned out great! I actually cooked them a bit longer on the stove because I had a cake in the oven at the same time then left them in the oven for an hour and a half. They were better than fork tender. I added a few things to the sauce to spice it up-some ancho chile powder and chipotle powder, but it just depends on the level of spice you're into. We plan on using the leftovers for sandwiches tomorrow-just shred the beef and add some bbq sauce and it's a great sandwich.

One Bowl Brownies

These brownies have great chocolate flavor and they're great in a pinch if you need something to take to a party. The only problem is they're not quite as chewy as I'd like. You definitely don't want to leave them in the oven too long.

White Chocolate Pound Cake

This is a great pound cake. . . a very subtle white chocolate flavor . . . I liked it a lot, but if you really want big white chocolate flavor, then I would reduce the sugar and increase the amount of white chocolate you melt into it . . . otherwise it is great as is . . . I chose not to frost it, but to top it with fresh strawberries and raspberries from my garden.

Soft Cinnamon Rolls

These were just not the rich gooey cinnamon rolls that I normally make. My ex-husband got all my favorite recipe books (not like he cooks either) and I couldn't find my normal recipe and I made these for Christmas morning. The kids and my fiance enjoyed them, but they're not especially picky (at least about sweets). I think they could do with more rising time before you put it all together. It was worth a try, but I'm still on the lookout for the perfect cinnamon roll recipe.

These are fabulous! My family loved them and they totally remind me of the crescent rolls my Grandma Rose used to make.

I didn't have shortening so I used a stick of butter and all I can say is these were DELICIOUS! Very light and fluffy.
