  • In a 1 1/2 qt. sauce pan, over medium heat, sautee onion in olive oil for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, add garlic and sautee until soft, being careful not to burn.

  • Using an immersion blender, blend mixture until smooth consistency is reached.

  • Reduce heat to low.

  • Simmer for 30-45 minutes.

  • Remove from heat, add basil, salt and pepper.
