I started serious cooking when Dad came to live with me after Mom died. He was skinny and I tried to put weight on him by cooking delicious meals under the watchful eye of a fellow cook (she was an expert). Dad had been a butcher in his younger days so together we experimented with different meats and seasonings and my friend Nancy introduced me to the kitchen, cooking and how not to be afraid of making a mistake. It was a fun time. After he passed I continued to enjoy cooking espcially now that I am retired.
