My son found this recips and has made it for his friends who raved about it. One thing he did change, he used Mexican Stewed Tomatoes which he drained in a colander along with the green chilies. Also he did not chop the ingredients before placing in the food processor. This made the salsa more "chunky". All in all it was a hit!
After reading the reviews I tried this using chicken thighs and legs as I didn't have chicken breasts in the freezer. Also, I used Italian Seasoned bread crumbs, added some pepper to the bread crumb, parmesan cheese mixture, and poured the remaining milk, mustard mixture on top of the breaded chicken then baked at 400 degrees. This kept the chicken moist and it took only 20 minutes longer to bake.
I've been making this salad for several years and it's always well received. I reduced the hot water to 1 cup, dissolve the jello and add 3/4 cup of the drained pineapple juice. I also add 1 tsp. lemon juice. The smaller amount of liquid makes the salad firmer as I usually pour it into a jello mold.
This recipe is quite good. I increased the amount of onion, added granulated garlic, more pepper and seasoning salt to the white sauce and used grated Colby cheese instead. Everyone liked it and I'll make it regularly.
I tried this recipe recently and it was well received. I found one can of apple pie filling was not enough so I added fresh apple slices on top coated with cinnamon and sugar. Next time I will use two cans of apple pie filling and that should suffice.
This was truly a rich, creamy dessert that should be served in small portions.
I have made this recipe several times for different occasions and everyone loves it. The salad satisfies everyone's needs for protein, vegetables and carbs.
I recently made this recipe with fresh peaches. To add more flavor, I added 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg to the sugar and sprinkled about 1/2 cup on the fresh peach slices. Then I put the remaining spice and sugar mixture into the flour and continued with the recipe. It was very flavorful.
Great recipe! I made this for myself and gave some to my neighbor's teenage daughter. She loved it so much she didn't share it with her family. I did add chopped Roma tomatoes and added with the black beans and cilantro. I also reduced the beans to (1) can and used canned, drained Mexican corn. Will make this again
I have made this recipe many times since I found it on this site. I even made it for a chili contest at church and won first place. I was then asked to share it with many others. Great recipe.
