This recipe is just awesome! i've made it several times and it always comes out GREAT! thanks for the recipe! by the way, i marinate the raisins for a day or two in the rum and it's AWESOME!
I wasn't expecting so much from such a simple, easy recipe and boy was i delighted! It had just the right amount of sweet/crunch to it and what a pretty loaf it makes! i used bread flour instead of the all-purpose so shaping it was a breeze. i added some sesame seeds too. i also used parchment paper for baking to prevent sticking.
while it was delicious, it had very little sauce, that's why i'm only giving it 4 stars. i even tried adding more marsala wine and a tbsp of cream to make more sauce, but still not enough sauce. it was, VERY, VERY good though!
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Finally, I can make great ribs!!!
Bacardi Drink Mixers MOVE OVER! This recipe is WAY BETTER! i used fresh strawberries and just added a little sugar and it worked great!
My whole family loved this! Excellent recipe! The sherry makes a BIG difference in the recipe so definately use it and enjoy!
The orange juice and coconut enhances the salmon's flavor and adds the unexpected to a salmon dish - a little crunch, a tiny bit of tangyness, and just the right amount of sweetness. Whatever you do, don't skip the dipping sauce - it is excellent! I'm very impressed that such a simple, easy recipe could make such a delicious, classy dish!
This recipe is very, very good! I didn't give it 5 stars because of the water. Against the advise of my fellow reviewers, I added the water and ended up w/watery crisp. I loved the flavor so much i decided to try it again, this time minus the water and it was GREAT! The second time around, I used 1/2 cup of brown sugar instead of the full cup of white sugar with the apples and it was not too sweet, not too tart - perfect for my taste! The apples that you use are the vital ingredient in this and any other apple recipe so make sure u use BAKING apples. if you are wondering which apples are baking apples, ask the produce staff at your supermarket or your fellow shoppers, it really makes a HUGE difference.
If you'd like a picture worthy pie - try this recipe! It's not only beautiful, it's delicious. The only change i made was adding 1 tsp. of pumpkin pie spice to the apples and pouring HALF of the sauce inside the crust and the other half on the outside. And as one reviewer advised, i used a pastry brush to cover the entire lattice crust. this is what gives the pie that glossy, deep golden color so be sure not to skip this step. i used a ready made crust in from the supermarket dairy case that has 2 in a box. you just unfold them and put them on your pie pan. I also used a very nifty device that saves so much time when making a lattice style crust. it's a pie crust sized cookie cutter with a checkerboard pattern on the inside. u press down on your crust and poke out the little squares - whala! lattice like crust in seconds! be sure to look for it at home stores if you like lattice crusts. this tool is worth it's weight in gold - and so is this recipe!
all i can say is AWESOME! i was looking for a recipe for this for so long and this is nothing short of FANTASTIC! THANK YOU! i used extra virgin olive oil and 1 crushed garlic (i looove garlic). if you like the dipping oils italian restaurants give you, TRY THIS! if you leave it in the fridge a few days, it's even better!
This stuff is just delicious! i absolutely love it and so does my family! it's a great way to sneak in some fruit. I toss in any fruit i have around, but my favorite additions is crushed toasted pecans! WOW! this recipe even tastes better the next day.
great cookie! nice and crunchy yet chewy, just right! thanks you!
