Tomato Basil Soup
A creamy rendition of a traditional favorite. This has made me a SouperHero in my house. This meal is full-bodied enough to not need the addition of a sandwich; however, garlic bread is nice for dipping.
Ruth's Red Lentil and Potato Soup
I made up this lentil potato soup recipe one chilly weeknight to stave off a cold. I was surprised at how delicious the soup was! The filé powder makes it nice and thick, but it may be left out. A warm loaf of sourdough bread is all you need to complete your meal!

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili
Ground beef, sausage, beans, and tons of spice make a real crowd-pleaser.
Thai Chicken Cabbage Soup
This is a low-fat, low-cal soup that's incredibly filling and delicious. I eat this at least once a week! I don't know how it tastes cold, though. Don't be afraid to vary the proportions of various foods on your own!
Veggie Vegetarian Chili
Delicious chili with tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, peppers, carrots, corn, and several kinds of beans. Great as a snack or as a whole meal. Can feed an army or keep for days. Serve with a sprinkling of cheese. You may also add a 12 ounce package of vegetarian burger crumbles after the ingredients come to a boil.
Insanely Easy Vegetarian Chili
A meatless chili with onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and corn.
Slow Simmer Beef Stew
This is the best beef stew I've ever tasted. My husband ate 4 bowls the first time I made it and my 9-month-old ate two bowls mashed up! I like to brown my beef for stew, and I hate to dirty both a pot and the slow cooker, so I prefer to cook the stew exclusively on the stove.
Butternut Squash Soup with Cream Cheese
Marjoram and cayenne add even more delicious flavor to this creamy soup.
