These were unimpressive to me. They were chewy, yes, but also flat as a pancake. The flavor was okay.
Fairly good. A nice change from pumpkin pie!
Very good *IF* you add about 1/3 cup of half and half or cream, and some flavoring--I added both cinnamon and vanilla. After those alterations it was wonderful!
Wonderful! I now make these every Sunday morning! Definitely give it at LEAST 1 1/2 hours to rise before making waffles (if you don't you'll end up with dense, less flavorful waffles - I did that once) and overnight is really the best if you can think about breakfast that far in advance (which I can't). If you like pancake mix waffles then this might not be your thing, but if you like old-fashioned waffles that don't taste like pancakes in a different shape, these are for you!
Okay... I think there ends up being much too much batter for only 1/2" on bottom and the flavor was decent but not good enough to be worth the calories (for me anyway). Worth a try to see if it's your thing!
I made this with half ground beef and half italian sausage. It was very good. Just a note - you don't need to precook your lasagne noodles (I never do, and you can do this with ANY lasagna noodles, not just the special ones that say "no boil"). Just layer them right out of the box and the liquid from your sauce and cheese mixture is enough to soften and cook the noodles. Easy. :)
Good! I've never had a bierock before but was intrigued by the recipe and am always looking for homemade things for hubby to take to work so he doesn't eat garbage... The only thing I did different was (like the other reviewer) using frozen dinner rolls. I just stretched them out with my hands to make big circles and then filled them. One thing, though - you need more like two tablespoons of filling per circle if you want to end up with 18 (1 1/2 dozen) bierrocks. Great recipe and I will make it several times in the future, I'm sure!
This was okay. I was expecting something more considering the reviews. It basically tastes like chili but without that hearty beef taste (which I happen to like - I usually even add beef bouillon to my chili). Worth a try, especially if you want something lower in fat and calories than traditional chili. Also, it needs a bit of heat! The new Chipotle Tabasco worked wonders.
I'm sorry, but...It is just a weird combination of flavors. I'm frustrated that I wasted so much money on ingredients. I know tastes are different, but this was really bad. Sorry...
This was a hit in our family. Full of flavor, hearty, and good for us too. Thank you!
Wow - that was so easy. I had a bunch of tomatoes (thanks to my vigorous tomato plants) and this was just what I needed. I just never realized it was so easy. Thank you!
Yum! I didn't find the lemons to make it too tart, although the cider I used was quite sweet with very little tartness, so that may be why. This was very popular with everyone at Thanksgiving and I'll be doing it again at Christmas.
