Ok this is my third time making, 2nd review. Today is an 8.5lb bone in breast. Thus, I 4x everything in the recipe except Parsley & Thyme because I ran out of both so subbed the difference with Herbs de Provence and only 3 TBS of Soy because I try and watch the sodium. I again mixed all with a mixer to 'whip' as I don't believe Philly makes whipped garden veg cheese (at least in my area, we only can find regular garden veg). 4x may have been extreme as this breast was loaded up with the heavenly cheese/butter mixture to the point I felt a bit guilty. I'd say I'm discarding about 1/4 cup. I'm also using a Slow Cooker Liner this time and going for 2 hours on high, then 6 on low and then I'll warm it till dinner time as I got this going at 9am. I also have another tub of the cream cheese which I will add to the mash potatoes as that worked quite well last time.
doubled the ham, as used the Christmas ham bone, simmered that for a few hours, pulled off all the ham, drained the fat from the stock, used 1 c of ham stock and 1.5 cups water. Didn't have celery, but have made this dish several times and used celery. It's awesome! Today I also used Lawreys in place of salt.
delicious! easy! hungarian roots, grew up eating stuffed cabbage. Agree with other reviews, I would probably use tomato soup in the future. easy and delicious!
Love this! have made it twice now, the homemade meatballs, while seriously labor intensive - are well worth it! I browned them in a frying pan first with a bit of oil, drained on paper towels and tossed them into the soup later. sooo good with some crusty bread!!!!
I've made this a few times, everyone loves it. Agree on using the ziploc bag to mix it all up!!!
serious effort. I used tongs for each potato as I was a fail at the spoon method, but they look really fantastic and taste great!
A go-to recipe - especially when kids are over! have made with sausage and bacon....skip the parmesan most the time, however what a difference the parmesan makes!!! it's much better with it! can't decide if bacon or sausage is my fave....
way too much effort and expense for the end result.
Love this recipe! all leftover bananas go in freezer in anticipation of making this! Only change I've ever made is Hershey's special dark cocoa, as I had 4 tubs of it. This bread gets rave reviews and anyone who has tasted it wants the recipe!!! Delicious!!!
My family loves this! Make it often! I've tried to use sirloin steak to economize, however, it will not be as good if you don't use Flank Steak. Also, I always make it the night before to marinate and double the recipe for the sauce. Even though sesame seeds are not in the recipe, they are in the picture so I sprinkle on top. I do 1/2 the red pepper flakes due to the spicy tolerance of my family. We have served over jasmine or brown rice. This is really really good and the house smells great!
My go to football dish to pass recipe!!! Using mini muffin pans with bits of croissant dough. Only use the Jimmy Dean or Bob Evans' hot/spicy, cream cheese, and red pepper flakes. that's it, and these get demolished!!!! when I'm hosting, I can't serve them fast enough!!!
Just bake them!!! a cup of tea and 3 of these? Christmas Heaven!!! Adult cookies!!! they are delicious!!!
