Nina's Green Bean Stew

This delicious stew has been passed down from my grandma to my mom to me. This is the first time anyone bothered to write it down, since it has always been made by using a "pinch of this" and a "dash of that."

Italian Love Knot Cookies

These cookies are traditionally made for weddings and at Christmas. You can vary the flavor to include your favorite and also use sprinkles that coordinate the time of year.

Pistachio Cookies

These delicious little green cookies are perfect year round, but at Christmas they make an extremely festive addition to a tray of cookies.

A friend from New Mexico introduced me to these cookies. Traditionally they are made with lard, not butter or shortening, and they should be made with wine (or brandy), not fruit juice. He introduced these cookies to me as Bizcochos but I have seen similar recipes that call them Biscochitos (or Bizcochitos)

Andrea's Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

My sister's awesome mom-in-law Andrea sent these cookies over for Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised when I bit into one to discover that what I thought were raisins were actually chocolate chips. I was lucky enough to get the recipe from her and now these are one of my favorite cookies.

Babci's Pierogies

For decades my family has been making hundreds of pierogies every December for our traditional Wigilia (Polish Christmas Eve celebration). We have perfected the pierogi making process and this particular recipe comes from my mom after years of tweaking to get it perfect. This dough is really easy to work with and rolls out well- which is key in making pierogies.

Polish Pound Cake

This is a family favorite at the holidays. It is a very dense, rich cake with a delicious vanilla butternut flavored batter with maraschino cherries and pecans throughout.

Aunt Julie's Pineapple Cookies

This is my great great aunt's recipe. She still makes them for special occassions and they are a family favorite. They are very unique compared to any other pineapple cookie recipe I've ever seen.

Shortbread Thumbprint Cookies

These delicious cookies can be made with your favorite flavor of jam. My favorite are made with raspberry jam or with lemon curd.

Butter Dream Cookies

These super simple cookies have a fantastic flavor. I altered a recipe I found to include vanilla butternut flavor, but regular vanilla or almond can also be used.

Oatmeal Sugar Cookies

My mom had a fantastic recipe for oatmeal cookies with nuts instead of raisins in an old cookbook. They tasted great and were very simple to make. Unfortunatelty her basement flooded and she lost the cookbook the recipe was in. It took me quite a few tries, but I have replicated that old recipe to best of my ability and the result is fabulous- a chewey oatmeal sugar cookie with a hint of cinnamon and the delicious crunch of nuts.

Red Velvet Cookies

This is the most simple cookie recipe I have ever made. The results are fantastic and no one will guess that there are only 4 ingredients in these cookies.
