I live in Sunny Southern California with my DH and two daughters. We live close to the beach and spend a lot of our free time there. We also do a lot of camping together.
I enjoy cooking (with a glass of wine in hand, of course!) and although I don't think of myself as a great cook, people alway compliment me on it! One thing that always amazes people is that I have no problem cooking for 50-70 people and it's often times mostly recipes I have not made before (I cheat and use all the 5 star ones from here and recipezaar.com!).

Hoppin' John

More stew then soup- a classic New Years Day meal! I couldn't find a recipe that had everything I liked so I took 4 differnt ones and combined parts to make it all my own. Served it to friends this New Years Day with fresh baked bread and they all loved it (even the kids!). I used the ham bone and scrap ham from the left over Christmas ham.

Chicken-Tamale Casserole

A yummy Mexican inspired casserole with lots of complex flavors. A little on the spicy side, so adjust the chili powder to your tastes

Rum Sauce

This is a great Rum Sauce for Bread Pudding. I used the extra over vanilla ice cream- YUMMM...
