I made the dough in my bread machine. When it was done, take the dough out and made rolls.After placing the rolls into the baking sheet, cover and let them rise again in a warm place for about 40 minutes. I brush the top of each roll with egg(lightly beat) just before put them into the oven. I use fresh Japanese pumpkin instead of canned pumpkin. The rolls are moist and delicious.
I pan fried the buns instead of steam them. To pan fry the buns: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat with 1 T oil. Put the buns in and fry for 1 minute. pure 1/4 cup water into the skillet, cover and cook until there is no more liquid left. Remove the cover and cook until the button of the buns are golden brown.
