Although it comes out looking like a pie it tasted more like a cake. I was not too happy with the taste, but my husband seemed to enjoy it. I think I will try it with a different fruit - although the taste I didn't care for seemed to come from the cake itself. This was a very easy dish.
This is probably the best tasting blueberry pie we have ever had and I will definitely make it again. However, it doesn't look very appetizing because the meringue gets dark even though I tented it with foil midway through the baking. Also, I was unable to get the sugar to dissolve with the egg yolks - there just wasn't enough liquid. I beat this for 20 minutes with no success. I had to add drops of water. I'm wondering if some ingredient is missing here!
Stephanie, this is the sugar cookie I remember from when I was very young. I was never able to find the same taste anywhere. I can't even remember where I had the cookie, but not even my mother was able to duplicate it! This is excellent- no added flavors other than vanilla to detract from the excellent taste. Many thanks for sharing this!!
This is a great recipe and it looks so wonderful. I will definitely prepare this for company. However, two eggplants was more than enough - it made three layers. Thanks for sharing this.
Wow - this is good! Thank you for sharing this, Cece.
This is a wonderful soup and one I use very often for family and friends! Instead of the 16 ounces of fettucine I use 8 ounces of small seashell pasta or a bag of frozen O'Brien potatoes. Also, instead of the zucchini I have used spinach or kale. Always a hit! Thanks for sharing.
This is wonderful! My husband and I really enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing - I will definitely make this for company!
Delicious! Stayed moist and was so tasty. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Julie Anne, for sharing this one. I had an hors'deouvres dinner party to go to last night and I made two of these. I assembled them in the morning and baked them just before we were to head out to the party, covered the "logs" lightly with foil, and sliced them when I got there. They were still hot and very, very TASTY! This is a keeper.
Wow! I made this 3 times in two weeks. Delicious. The only thing I found is that if you use berries that are semi-frozen you need to add more cornstarch. I added 5 T last time and it worked better. Also, I baked it at 350 deg for 1 hr and it was perfect! Thanks for sharing!
This is the best! We enjoyed every spicy bite. Thanks.
This was such a fabulous success! I couldn't believe it could be so easy and taste so good. What a presentation it made at our Memorial Day Potluck Dinner. Thanks.
