Made this the other day and it is excellent. If you are from New Orleans, I have to tell you, this is just like the Sauce from Bud's Broiler. To anyone not from New Orleans, Put this over a nice hamburger and top with some finely chopped onions and grated cheddar cheese. Yummmmmm......
Excellent!!! Just a hint of sweetness in the meat and gravy. I simmered the gravy by itself for a while to thicken it up. Also added a few dashes of soy sauce to the meat while cooking. Made mashed potatoes and the gravy was just perfect for them. Thank you for this recipe. I thought I made a good pot roast before this, but I LOVE this one!
The liquid smoke was a little too intense for my personal taste, but still this was delicious and nice and moist. Next time I will leave out the liquid smoke and add a little more garlic. ( I love garlic) Pineapple juice might be a very good addition for the marinade.
Very good! I also added a touch of cayenne pepper (about 1\2 Tsp. I like a bit of bite) and an extra 1\2 Tsp. of Garlic Powder. Very, very good!

My mother has beenn making this for years. It is great! I also add about a cup of mini-chocolate chips in mine. Excellent.
