Delicious! I chopped the onion and added a touch of green onion for color. Also, I added cubed ham (leftover from Easter dinner) to make it more of a meal. I just can't imagine going wrong with this recipe.....but DO use a bigger dish! Can't wait to try it again with a different type of cheese and maybe take another reviewer's suggestion on using red potatoes.
Fantastic! Unfortunately it was raining last night, so I couldn't grill, but it was just fine using the broiler. We like spicy food, so I'll use more red pepper next time....maybe a little more sugar, too (going for the "sweet and hot"). Can wait to try this on the grill!
My daughter took one look at what I was making and, with a disgusted look, said; "You're not going to put the apples ON the pork chops, are you? Those chops are huge! I can't eat a whole one." Not only did she end up putting the apple mixuture on the pork herself, but she polished off a whole chop! I will definitely be making this again! Oh, we doubled the apples and the sauce....probably could have used a little more.
The first time I made this, I agreed - it was "lacking". Next time I made it, I followed previous suggestions and added garlic, cilantro, more tomatoes (large dice rather than chunks), a little extra fire and some chicken broth. (also added the chicken broth to the rice). Everybody loved it!
Followed previous suggestions and scaled WAY back on orange - didn't add the zest and it was still enough. My 14-yr-old daughter didn't care for it. I thought it was OK. Probably won't make it again.
Awesome!! My house smelled great all day. We all loved it. Will definitely make again!
We really enjoyed this. The whole "foaming" thing was strange! The flavor reminded me of the bourbon chicken you find at the mall. Also used the seasoning (without the baking soda) with a pork roast in the slow cooker. That was excellent as well.
Not overly impressed. Odd flavor. Won't make again.
Excellent!! Wonderful aroma, flavor really penetrated the roast. I served it with a simple mango salsa - it was the perfect complement to the meat. Will make again!!!
Excellent! Then again, just about anything smothered in cheese and bacon is good. The rest of the ingredients are an odd combination, but they blended very well.
Didn't really care for this. The flavor just wasn't "true".
It was OK. Nothing special. Granted, the outside of the roast where it carmelized was very good, but the flavor didn't penetrate. Also, the smell while it was cooking was unpleasant.
