Needed a little more flavor and spice. I used green bell peppers, broccoli, sliced carrots, spinach, green onions, ginger, and celery. Next time I will also add water chestnuts. I added crushed red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper for spice. It's a good recipe to start with and customize.
Every time I make this, people love it! I usually put just a little less cayenne in it because most people that I cook for don't like things as spicy as I do, but it still has good spice and is very savory. It's a wonderful comfort food with great taste!
The fries taste amazing! It is well worth the steps to get the crispy outside, perfect inside and the potato taste that often gets lost in so many other prepared fries. Chef John, once again, does not disappoint!
