I thought this was an excellent recipe. I marinated my beef strips in the burgundy (actually I used cabernet sauvignon because I like it better than burgundy) for a few hours. I also added 2 kinds of fresh mushrooms. Other than that, it is great the way it is.
I used round-steak cut in cubes. Browned in olive oil. I used an electric fry pan. Removed. Added 2 tbsp of butter then sauteed fresh, sliced onions & carrots. After onions were caramelized a bit, I added fresh mushrooms & garlic. Once the mushrooms had softened, I put meat back in and added 2 1/2 cups of cabernet sauvignon. Simmered for 1 hours very low, added some salt & 1/2 tsp. of worcestershire sauce. Simmered until butter noodles were done. Then added 1/8 cup of sour cream to beef right before serving. There was plenty of sauce!! We loved it!
Yum! These were so good just as the recipe is and I am one who is almost always changing the recipe!!
Yummy flavors! I used 1 tbsp of tomato paste & 1 sm can of tomato sauce with 3 tbsp of ketchup. Then used 1 tbsp of each of the remaining ingredients except BBQ sauce which I used 1.5 tbsps. I also used a green pepper in place of the red. Definitely will make again!!
I am giving this a 2 because I made it exactly the way the recipe instructs and , to me, it tasted like a mild tomato soup with sausage. I had to dress it up a "lot" to get it to taste really good. Once I did, it was delicious. So, the recipe is a good starting point.
Oh my gosh! I made this for last night's chicken shishkabobs. I marinated my chicken for 10 hours. We all loved it! The only thing I did differently is that I added a touch of poultry seasoning. Yummy!
Add a little worcestershire sauce so that it's not quite so sweet. YUM!
YUM! Loved this soup the very first time. I'm one who always tries the recipe exactly the way it's written the first time and then I make any changes the next time I make it. This was good right out of the chute!! I sprinkled grated American Grana Parmesan on top before serving!
My partner & I had this last night for the first time. We had broccoli a couple of nights ago so I substituted broccoli with chinese pea pods, fresh mushrooms and water chestnuts. He LOVED it so much he ate almost the entire recipe minus the small plate I had. He doesn't eat that much normally ever! But he loved this! Can't wait to try it with another meat and other veggies.
This is an excellent salad. Eat it all the time! However, I always use a poppy seed dressing. YUM! Try it with candied walnuts and Gorgonzola.
This is a good idea but it turned out very bland. I might make it again, but I will need to add some extra ingredients to turn it up a notch.
