Thanks, Marilyn! My 2 and 4 year old boys had a blast helping me prepare this casserole for our supper. The flavor is one of a kind, and we all enjoyed it.
This is an awesome dessert! My guests ate it up and we had rather large slices! Eating it warm with vanilla icecream just felt so good. This is my definate chocolate fix!
Thanks for submitting this recipe! I just gave it to my mother who's made it many times during my childhood. This is an easy and delicious treat!
This healthy version of a cookie is good enough to eat! I added Golden raisins and chopped, fresh apple pieces. The cookies did not crumble after I allowed them to cool about 5 minutes on my baking stone. (Gives the honey time to firm up?)I omitted the nuts this time due to "New Mommy Brain" and plan to make them in the future with pecans!
We all love this recipe. I used a bit more brown sugar and 4 bananas per other's suggestions. My muffin baking stone was filled three times, giving me 36 full-size muffins (some to freeze!) and my mini muffin pan was filled twice, yeilding 24 mini muffins. Thanks for passing this goodie along!
Created this confection for the second time with the same results - FABULOUS! I have tweaked it for a bit more of a health kick. 1. Replaced half the flour with whole wheat. 2. Threw in about 1 Tablespoon of Flax Seed meal 3.Used 1 Cup organic virgin coconut oil in place of vegetable oil. 4. Added more spices (Cinnamon, cloves & nutmeg). 5. Folded in 1/4 Cup shredded coconut!
Chose this recipe to bake for Teacher appreciation week from Moms in Touch group. I took the advise of others and did need to add more milk (I use almond milk). Also, substituted coconut oil in place of vegetable. Do add the sprinkled sugars on top! I had to put them in my freezer quickly as I was so tempted to just keep eating them. This is a beautiful muffin for gift giving.
Baked this for my son's class breakfast. It was mostly eaten by the adults and everyone said they liked it and wanted the recipe. I did not like it. To me it seems there were just too many flavors going on at one time. The strong flavor of the croutons, strong cheeses and meat was too much for me. If I make it again I will omit the swiss cheese and opt for fresh veggies browned in butter in lieu of the meat.
This dessert was devoured this evening! My center was just a little undercooked even though the top was at the perfect color and the exact time had passed when I pulled it out to cool. I did add about 2 T. of blueberry jam when the o.j. went in. Thanks!
Created this first for son's Kindergarten graduation celebration. People who love onion will love this. I used larger, thinner slices to pick out. Have made it twice and homemade ranch is better! People ate it up with raves.
My tropical themed event went very well and my guests loved this dish! I do, too! I used Ginger Juice, less onion powder as I spread onions and colorful sweet peppers on the bottom of my coconut oiled baking dish. Less ketchup and more brown sugar. Used fresh garlic and not garlic salt. Rice vinegar instead of cider vinegar. Marinated the raw boneless chicken breasts for 1 hour in vinegar mixture. Greased deap dish stoneware, placed peppers and onions, then chicken and topped with pineapple mixture. Baked at 350 for 45 minutes.
This is a fabulous side. I loved the lime flavor for my tropical themed dinner. Even had a guest who'd never eaten asparagus before and loved it! LOL! I'll use it again. Only sub. was to use coconut oil in place of olive.
