Spinach Lasagna II

This recipe was very easy to make. We have made it twice and both times it turned out good. I gave 4 stars because the flavor could use a little zing but I had no complaints. I substituted egg beaters and used light ricotta the second time and it tasted just as good as it did the first time. This is a good recipe to use to add and subtract what you like. I would definitely recommend this for kids or a big family it is filling.

This was my first experience working with grape leaves and so it was a bit of an adventure. It took a while for me to roll all the rice mixture up making the whole process last longer than I had planned on. I enjoyed the flavor and did as previous reviews suggested and added extra lemon but, I don't think all that olive oil was necessary. There was a lot in the bottom of the pan when we took them out and it kinda made the outside of the grape leaves slippery. My boyfriend wasn't a fan but, I think Ill try it one more time (with some adjustments) when we have guests over to get more reviews.

This recipe is perfect period. I had never made pumpkin pie before even though it is my favorite and said I would make it for a Christmas dinner. It was delicious! Everyone thought I must make it all the time because it tasted so good! Thank you so much for sharing!

Rapini-Walnut Macaroni

Very delicious. My boyfriend usually remarks to these kinds of dishes saying, "I don't like green stuff in my pasta" but this time he said, "I like this!" aka phenomenal. The flavors complimented each other really well and it made great left overs.

Zucchini Risotto

When cooking arborio rice you have to commit to stirring a lot. If you have the time to do that then this dish is definitely worth it. I despise sun dried tomatoes and so I skipped them, I added red pepper instead. I also added a summer squash in addition to the zucchini. Great dish!

Scalloped Potatoes II

This recipe is awesome. It is a perfect base to make any "flavored" scalloped potatoes you could possible dream of. Just add what ever spice(s) you wish to either the milk or the layers and you will never be disappointed. I have done a garlic/onion version, a chive/parsley/basil version and a cheesy pepper version. You can make it how you want and it turns out every time! Thank you for sharing!

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

This salad is quick and simple but has big taste! Cut the sugar in half and feel free to sub red wine vinegar for the white wine vinegar. I have even substituted cider vinegar with out regrets! Easy, summery and delicious!

Yum yum yum! I never would have thought to put strawberries and feta together on my salad but they are a perfect match. The almonds add a nice flavor and crunch too. No one is ever disappointed when I make this salad!

Missy's Candied Walnut Gorgonzola Salad

Thank you Missy! I was a little annoyed with the extra effort I had to go through to find Gorgonzola cheese (small city) but it was worth it in the end. I don't think a thing about this recipe needs to be changed. It is absolutely delicious, I will make it again and again. P.S. The candied walnuts are amazing and make an awesome sweet treat. Make extra!

A Simply Perfect Roast Turkey

This last year we had Thanksgiving at our house for the first time. It was our first time cooking a turkey and this recipe made us look like pro's! I followed the advice of others (rub butter under the skin and wrap the wings with foil) and the recipes instructions to a T. It was perfect! Everyone asked what recipe we used! Thank you so much for this recipe Syd!

Green Bean Casserole II

I have been making GBC since I was a child but looked up a recipe for this past thanksgiving. We were going to be having a lot of guests and I wanted to make sure the GBC was the best it could be. Even though it had great ratings the small changes to my original recipe didn't amount to much improvement. You can drop the milk and just add 1 can of cream of mushroom for every 1 can of green beans and get similar if not better results. Of course add the pepper. I gave it 3 stars because while there was no complaints there were no compliments either. I have in the past made it with croutons or bread crumbs on top and it tastes just as good. If you don't have the french fried onions in your pantry don't hesitate to substitute.
