a short disorderly kook I'm doing a major reorg of my Recipe Box so it's kind of haphazard right now. My mum is a great cook who introduced us to a wide range of foods at a young age (I loved escargots when I was 5), and I love to try new ways to prepare food. My strengths are pies, cookies, cheesecakes, salads, preserves, appetizers, and casual foods. I'm afraid of working with traditional yeast. The thought of making breads and buns from scratch is daunting, so I let my bread machine do the work! I have yet to achieve success baking cakes from scratch unless it's a heavy batter, like carrot cake. It takes me forever to put a recipe together because I spend a lot of time obsessing about whether or not I forgot an ingredient or measured wrong, or if I missed a step. In my case you could call it 'kooking'!
