I use spice cake mix, pistachio pudding, and Texas pecans.
to the person who asked how long the sauce will keep in the fridge...I make a double batch and freeze the rest. I use a mason jar with plastic wrap and a rubber band (to allow for expansion). When the sauce is frozen, replace the plastic with the metal jar lid. To use it, take it out of the freezer and leave it in the 'fridge over night, or microwave for 2 minutes at at time (stirring between each nuke) till warm. I even use it and refreeze it several times. HTH
